Rules
Rugby is simple. One of the most simple rules is that you have the pass the ball backwards, if you pass it forwards you get a penalty.Another simple rule is if you catch the ball and it falls in front of you, it’s called a knock on and at that point you either get a penalty or do a scrum or line out. A scrum is 3, 5 or 8 man play depends on how many players are on the field.The positions are explained in the "Positions prop" page.
Tackling
- When it comes to tackling, its very important to know how because you can very easily hurt someone.
- Things you need to know on taclking is;You can only tackle the person with the ball.
- To be considered a tackle the person needs to half at least a knee to the ground .
- You can not tackle above the shoulders.
- Always make sure you are in the right body position to tackle.Don't slouch.
- Straight back and shoulders ready for the impact or you might pull a muscle in your back or shoulders.
- Tackle upwards. Don't tackle towards the ground or you'll face plant.
- Hit the person in the stomach and legs area.
- Be a clean player.Don't try and hurt the opposite player.
- You wont get penalized if you do things legally rather than risk high tackling and get sent off or injure someone
